Oversized Oversized Oversized!!!!
I’ve been a big fan of oversized clothing for a while now. For me, oversized clothings accentuate my shoulders and seem to enlarge my frame by a couple inches. It’s almost as if I can trick people into thinking I’m taller and bigger than I actually am. Some female friends also suggested that it helps them hide the chubs, while I’m all for body positivity, if you find that tip helpful, there’s another reason for you to try it out.
This specific post is focused on oversized coats. As we’re saying goodbye to winter in LA in a couple weeks, let’s remember and celebrate the good times oversized coats and we shared together.
Anna in Pomona
I thought of Anna first when I was brainstorming who and where to photograph my oversized obsession. I’m so happy we ended up making this happen because she brought her A-game! As a fan of oversized clothing herself, she was so comfortable and confident, and we ended up with so many good shots. My favorite look are the plaidnum threat!

Jorge in Pasadena
This is my third time working with Jorge, and just like the last couple times, we had an absolute blast this time around. I CANNOT get over how flow-y and clean his trench coat looks.

Anaiah in DTLA
I met Anaiah while I was on my street style photography assignment back in November last year. As a fellow photographer, we quickly connected over our mutual interest in both photography and fashion. For this particular shoot, I actually didn’t know that her coat was oversized, and on top of that, it’s a vintage from her grandma. I’m a big fan of recycling fashion, especially from another decade, some styles just never go out of style.

I know I know, why do I have to put myself on here? Just to give an idea what I mean by adding size to one’s frame by wearing oversized. This is one of my favorite item in my closet that I got for only $20 from Zara during sale season 2017. I think it has a timeless quality to it and I’ll definitely wear it a couple more years.

These incredible images are captured by the talented Nancy, who I’ve previously photographed . In these pics, I was going for a mostly care-free look, my pants are loose fitted, I’m wearing sneakers, the coat is oversized, Did I achieve the look? I don’t care, I just know that I love the oversized coat.
