My name is Jimee Sechinbaatar. I’m a Mongolian photographer currently residing in Southern California.
I came to the US as an international student majoring in Video Journalism. Around my senior year in college, there was a Canon DSLR camera model named 7D that became increasingly popular among my classmates because it shot really high quality videos as well as photos. I felt like I had to join in on the trend and that’s how I got my hands on my first DSLR camera. Since then I’ve shot friends, families, weddings, cityscapes, seascapes and anything that could get me likes on Instagram during its early days. Fast forward to almost a decade later, I’ve photographed hundreds of clients and among them are fashion brands, actors, dancers, realtors, and a couple of celebrities.
To me, photography is one way for me to creatively express myself while providing values and service to others. If you know anything about astrology, my Libra moon and mercury provides me an eye for beauty and symmetry; my leo venus and midheaven helps me empower others by showcasing and bringing out their confidence; my virgo sun holds me accountable for having a practical service mindset and making sure clients always get the most value out of a shoot; my scorpio rising gives me an eye to transform and further empower others by emphasizing the authenticity in every single one of us.
