Raquel and Aaron's wedding video
This is hands down one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve filmed. I’ve also had the most fun shooting this wedding. Here’s why:
This wedding was so well put together, AT LAST MINUTE! Due to the Woolsey wildfire, Raquel and Aaron had to change their wedding venue from Topanga to Highland park. Wedding planning is already hard, and having to make changes at the very last minute can potentially be chaotic and even disastrous. But they pushed through like a couple of champions with the help of some amazing people and the rest is history. And to put cherry on top, they had a bridezilla piñata which they rightfully destroyed along with all the pressure that got built up (Check mark 06:15 )
The amazing wedding venue The Ruby Street serves up some of the most beautiful decorations and lighting (from 01:45 till the end of the video). With the Black Pro Mist Filter that I recently purchased, all the highlights from artificial and natural light had a soft glow which made everything look dreamy, my favorite moment is the newly wed’s entrance monment (05:28), you can see the string light as well as lights from inside making the moment look almost magical.
I’ve shot this wedding completely by myself using three different cameras.
Main footages from : Canon 7D on Yelangu S60t stabilizer, with Black Pro Mist Filter
Ceremony and audio from: Canon 5D mark III
Vintage footage from: 8mm app iOS
Now aside from Black pro mist which made everything look dreamy, I’ve also had the most fun with 8mm app, I’ve shot tons of cute and vintage looking footages from this app that I can almost make a highlight video out of those footages alone. But my favorite moments had got to be the split screen part where everyone was goofing around as well as serving all kinds of lewks (01:24). And thank goodness for the stabilizer, even though I still need some more practice, but I was able to get some shots that looked like I had a jib (01:14)
I made Raquel and Aaron very happy. After I showed the video, Raquel and Aaron both called me to tell me personally how much they enjoyed the video and was able to live through one of the most important days of their lives. Never had I made someone so happy that they decided to call me to tell me how much they liked it. That was such an assuring and proud moment for me because we’re all our own worst critics and kind words can go soooo far. On top of that, I got to know the sweet couple and our relationship doesn't just end on their wedding day.
Building a genuine connection and growing together is something that I’ve been trying to work on and I’m glad that this is not only an important day for Raquel and Aaron, but that it was also a part of my journey in being the person I wanna be. Wow I didn’t think that things would get this deep, if you read this far, thank you for putting up with me and hope you enjoy the video.
